Based in the heart of the Brecon Beacons Matt has been a photographer for over 20 years - professional for the last 5 years. Originally qualifying as a Biochemist - with a BSc from King College London and a research MSc from Magdalen College Oxford - Matt first worked in Scientific IT before pursuing his original childhood career aims. He currently holds a Licentiateship from the Royal Photographic Society. Favouring an uncluttered, almost minimalist, composition style he specialises in landscapes, family portraits and stock imagery. His location in the Brecon Beacons gives him the opportunity to make frequent trips to the best landscape locations to take advantage of the perfect conditions for image making. Primarily using digital capture for convenience and flexibility he is a great believer in the fact that the technology used to capture the picture is no substitute for good composition and lighting. Using Canon cameras he shoots exclusively in “RAW” format (the digital equivalent to a negative) ensuring that the maximum level of image detail and dynamic range is extracted from the image in the areas where it is required. Matt's landscape prints and greetings cards are on sale throughout the Brecon Beacons National Park and elsewhere in South Wales. |
Matt is available for photographic commissions anywhere in South Wales. His stock photography library is managed by Alamy and Photolibrary Wales.
