Often the detail is more photographically interesting than the wider view and this was certainly the case in the old Sardinian town of Alghero. A combination of weathered window shutters, doors and decaying plasterwork give an impression of neglect but also enhance the feeling of history in the town. Many of these features wouldn't be given a second glance while walking down the street and likewise as individual images they don't say much, but as a collection they give an interesting view of the town's architecture.
