Birth of William

These images document the minutes and hours after the birth of my youngest son William.

My aim has been to capture the frailty of a new born baby and its transition from the indignities of birth to the relative peace of a sleeping new-born baby (however little time this lasts for!)

As part of the project I have also sought to establish the baby's newly formed identity by selecting key images which define his weight, hair colour, sex and name.
